Good Cult is a midsummer indie goth band, consisting of 14 members and their messiah, a basset hound named Barktholomew. The band has been compared to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, due to their high member count and hippie-van music aesthetic. Their sound has also been referred to as "Delta Rae meets Green Day" by renowned indie band critic, Peyton Leatherman.
It is unknown to the public whether or not the cult aspect of the band is genuine. While some believe the image is only for show, ex-members claim that the group regularly takes part in ritualistic practices, such as blessing dog treats and rubbing each other's bellies to reach "ultimate nirvana."
Baktholomew is allegedly believed to be the reincarnated soul of their original cult leader, who returned with the message that dogs are the purest form of life. With this in mind, some members have attempted to tap into this purity by legally changing their names to those more "doggish". This group includes the lead guitarists Bingo, Spot and Scooby and the two front singers Lucky and Shadow.

All of this is fake.
Unfortunately, this band does not actually exist. How this project came about was from a list of band names compiled over a year by myself and my good friend, Peyton. From the list, I pulled this name and decided it would be fun to create some album art. This would require that I imagine what kind of band Good Cult would be, what their culture was like and what kind of music they would make. And, of course, what kind of dog they would worship.
